Greenheart International is a finalist for TWO Global Youth Travel Awards!

Greenheart International has been announced as a finalist at WYSTC’s 2024 Global Youth Travel Awards in the categories of Best Education Abroad Provider and Best Work Experience Provider for our Jr. Greenheart Global Leaders Conference and Ambassador Scholarship Fund program.

As we await the announcement of winners, here are brief excerpts from our application for WYSTC’s Global Youth Travel Awards:

Best Education Abroad Provider – Junior Greenheart Global Leaders Conference:

The Jr. Greenheart Global Leaders Conference is an opportunity for 5 high school students (exchange students in the U.S. or American alumni who previously went abroad) to come together. They explore global leadership in Chicago, Illinois through social and environmental service, cultural exchange, and international advocacy. They engage in one-on-one discussions with innovative leaders and practice their public speaking skills by sharing their cultural exchange accomplishments with the founders of Greenheart and staff at our headquarters. Here are our reported metrics of success for the program in 2024:

  • Percentage of participants who feel comfortable speaking and advocating for environmentalism and sustainability practices: 100%
  • Percentage of participants who feel comfortable speaking and advocating for cultural exchange programs:  100%
  • Percentage of participants who feel confident with public speaking in general:  100%
  • Percentage of participants who feel engaged and connected with their own community: 100%

Best Work Experience – Ambassador Scholarship Fund:

The Ambassador Scholarship Fund has the goal of serving students in underfunded countries by offering them an opportunity to learn about and experience the United States. This allows 123 brilliant students from all over the world to have their visa fees, airfare, program fees, and SEVIS fees paid for.  By the end of all the grants, the hope is to have participants from 5 regions, 89 countries, come on the Summer Work Travel program without financial burden and experience American culture. The first cohort completed their program in the United States and here are the reported metrics of success:

  • Percent of foreign participants who traveled to the United Sates for the first time during their program: 100%
  • Percentage of foreign participants who are more likely to recommend the U.S.: 100%
  • Percentage of participants reporting in increases in their English language skills, job skills, soft skills and technical skills because of their program: 100%
  • Percentage of participants that report increased ability to counter disinformation: 100%

Winners will be announced on Friday, 27 September at the gala dinner awards ceremony on the final evening of the World Youth and Student Travel (WYSTC) Conference.
