2016 Greenheart Global Leaders Conference

In 2015, Sailas used a Greenheart Service Grant to establish a computer training project within the community of the Pakwach Town Council in the West Nile region of Uganda. The project empowered 197 technologically marginalized youth. He is now carrying out his second initiative, the School Library Project, within the same community. This project supplies under-resourced primary and secondary school children with study materials needed to pass the national examinations.

Q. How were you inspired by the GGLC?

A. The Greenheart Global Leaders Conference inspired me in many ways. It further expanded my understanding of global disparities and provided me with solutions to fixing the identified gaps. I got to meet and interact with many incredible men and women, learn about their cultures and become more aware of social, economic and political issues at play in the globe.

Q. What is your favorite GGLC memory?

A. The panel at the U.S. Department of State, where I got to share about the project in my home community.

Q. How has Greenheart impacted you?

A. Greenheart has played a significant and amazing role in my life. It has laid a foundation that I need to build on for a stronger and brighter future. I therefore remain committed to serving Greenheart and playing an active role in their future activities or programs.
