So what exactly is a Counselor-In-Training (CIT) anyway? A CIT is a Camp Greenheart participant that assists Lead Counselors in camp preparation and clean-up, co-teaching activities, and most importantly, serves as a positive role model for campers! The CIT Program and Adventure Weekend are exciting opportunities for past Camp Greenheart campers who want to remain involved in Camp Greenheart and develop leadership skills.
Our 2017 CITs were invited to join Greenheart this past weekend for a fun-filled time of canoeing, team building, and leadership training. This year Greenheart teamed up with local nonprofit, Chicago Voyagers, to create an even richer program for our 2017 CITs. Chicago Voyagers empowers at-risk youth through outdoor experiential adventures that foster healthy relationships and responsible behavior.
Take a look at videos from the weekend and hear from some of our CITs and Greenheart staff members about what it means to be a GREAT leader!
Meet our amazing CIT leaders: Adriana, Ammad, Dulce, and Josh! There are even some special guest appearances by Lead Camp Counselors and Greenheart Staff: Rob, Sam, Nicole, and Rocio.
