Igniting Change at the Greenheart Gala

Last week, Greenhearts from around the world celebrated our impact by inspiring others to ignite change in their community at the 2016 Greenheart Gala.  Taking time to celebrate the impact that each and every Greenheart stakeholder, participant, and staff member has  is an important part of living our vision of a world in which communities come together as agents of change to create a more peaceful and sustainable future for all.

The event was hosted at Ignite Glass Studios in Chicago, where the night kicked off with our VIP hour and glassblowing demonstration.

Throughout the night, we heard from some of our all-star participants and alumni who have dedicated their lives to igniting change in their communities around the world.

Honoree Lynne Twist encouraged Greenhearts to “take a stand to change the world,” in her inspirational speech on the impact Greenheart global leaders have on the world around them.

Long time Greenheart Transforms member, DJ Taz, kept the good vibes grooving as Greenhearts hit the dance floor:

The Greenheart Gala provided an opportunity for global leaders to join together to celebrate the mission of our organization and support our participants through grants and scholarships.  This year, we were successful in not only meeting but exceeding our fundraising goal!

In total, we raised $50,905 for scholarships and grants for our participants.  We’re so excited about this opportunity and are looking forward to continuing to grow our community of global leaders.  The funds raised will go towards alumni service, grants, Greenheart Global Leaders Conference scholarships, and Camp Greenheart scholarships.  How do you ignite change in your own community?
