Now that I am about to board the plane, I have to introduce you to my new favorite places in the U.S. As I mentioned before, living in Chicago for 4 months was more than I could have ever asked for. I enjoyed its diversity during every bit of my stay. But during this first week of fall, I tried to be a tourist in the Windy City.
I tried to visit every place a tourist may be interested in, beginning with unknown alleys and ending up at the Ledge of Willis Tower. 🙂 The Adler Planetarium surprised me with its shows. I had a great time meeting dolphins and sharks at the Shedd Aquarium. The Field Museum impressed me with its stories and offered me a lot of information to share back home. There was no way I could skip the major point of attraction in Chicago. Yes – I’m talking about the Willis Tower, an impressive building with a breathtaking view. What more could a tourist ask for? And after having many long walks along the Lakefront, I had a quick stop at Navy Pier to enjoy fireworks after a Boat Parade.
The city made me love it even more after these last days that I have spent here.
This summer, along with a group of young, dynamic, and fearless leaders, I had the privilege to visit Washington D.C. I was amazed by its architecture more than anything else. Every building and monument has a story behind it. We were lucky to have a tour guide who introduced us to the National Mall and to the history related to each of its masterpieces.
Now that I on my way home, I am glad that I could share with you a bit about my free time in the United States.
