This week we’re celebrating our Camp Greenheart Leaders! Each year we invite four CCI Greenheart participants and alumni to join us in Illinois on a full scholarship for a week and a half of professional development, leadership training, and adventure. This immersive cultural exchange experience allows our Greenheart participants to use all of the skills they’ve learned though their exchange and ring in the end of their program on a high note. Camp Leaders assist lead counselors with camp programming and give a cultural presentation to campers about their home countries. This year’s theme focuses on environmentalism and Camp Leaders will share about their country’s relationship with the environment.
Get to know our 2017 Camp Leaders below and join us in celebrating this wonderful opportunity to connect participants from two of our branches, Greenheart International and CCI Greenheart.

“I watched many movies about summer camps like Camp Rock, The Parent Trap, and others. I always wanted to go to a summer camp. It always looked like they had so much fun. I knew I was probably too old to participate in a summer camp, but having the opportunity to work in a summer camp as a camp leader is great. I think that camp will be the perfect end for my exchange year. I will be able to use every skill I learned during the past ten months as a Facilitated Exchange student. I am so excited to meet all the kids and have fun with all of them.”

“I’m really into every kind of sport, but also enjoy artistic or creative activities. I also enjoy being in contact with other children, younger or older. I am really excited to come to the USA for the 2nd time and I hope we’ll have a lot of fun together.”
