Greenheart Shop 2015 Review
The past few months have been busy ones for Greenheart Shop. We’ve had several great events with wonderful partners and supporters that are helping us spread awareness for the importance of fair trade products!
In July, the Shop hosted “A Fair Affair” with UNICEF and Oxfam to raise awareness of human trafficking and the significance of being global advocates for this cause. The event fostered important conversations on social justice among passionate individuals. We enjoyed creating a space for this dialogue with our great partners and hope that the conversations will continue!
In August, the Shop collaborated with the Social Enterprise Alliance to present an evening on Reframing the Business Landscape, focusing on fair trade and social enterprise business models and their role in traditional business practice. Panelists included Brenda Palms Barber, executive director of the North Lawndale Employment Network, Katherine Bissell Cordova, executive director of Chicago Fair Trade, and Rich Cohen, founder of Distant Village Packaging. The insight of our panelists blew us away, and we were so happy to share these thoughts on the future of social business with our Greenhearts.
We are so thankful for our shoppers, supporters and the fair trade community we are proud to be a part of, especially during this holiday season!
