CCI Greenheart Announces Name Change to Greenheart Exchange
CHICAGO, IL, June 2017—CCI Greenheart, a leader in the cultural exchange field for over 30 years, announces that it is changing its name to Greenheart Exchange. It will continue to serve as the inbound cultural exchange branch of the dynamic nonprofit, Greenheart International. This name change reflects the organization’s commitment to cultivating global leaders.
“It is particularly fitting that the original and largest branch of our organization should now carry the Greenheart name more fully, as Greenheart Exchange,” said Laura Rose, CEO of Greenheart. “The Greenheart stands as a powerful yet simple symbol of love and respect for all. It is at the heart of our commitment to connecting people and planet.”
Greenheart Exchange creates global leaders by facilitating cultural exchange and service learning opportunities for international students and professionals coming to the U.S. Greenheart Exchange is a designated sponsor of the U.S. Department of State for the following J-1 Exchange Visitor Programs: Secondary School (High School Programs), Intern, Trainee, and Summer Work Travel. It also offers the F-1 High School Academic Program, ESL Summer Camp, and various Short-term Homestay and Group Programs for international participants.
In conjunction with the name change, Greenheart Exchange is expanding upon its global leadership programing. It is re-launching the Greenheart Club site, which offers participants and alumni enhanced communication, volunteer support, inspirational stories, learning modules, and personal development and professional tools. It has partnered with the Pachamama Alliance to develop an online course dedicated to inspiring an environmentally sustainable, socially just, peaceful human presence on this planet. Furthermore, Greenheart Exchange is increasing the amount of scholarships to attend the Greenheart Global Leaders Conference in Washington D.C. and the Junior Greenheart Global Leaders Conference in Chicago. It is also increasing the number of Greenheart Service Grants for participants and alumni to implement social or environmental projects throughout the world. Engaged alumni will also be pleased with the development of a new alumni-focused youth council that both consults on and develops events and programing with Greenheart.
The new name is fully effective as of September 15, 2017, though includes a rolling name change for each J-1 Exchange Visitor Program, listed as follows: June 15, 2017 for Intern and Trainee; July 17-24, 2017 for Summer Work Travel; and September 15, 2017 for Secondary School (High School Programs).
